Why is NBCU a great place to work?
Put simply, it's the people. The talented individuals that come to work here really make the environment an all around great place to work. Every initiative you're involved with allows you to learn from people who are the best at what they do in the industry.
Why do you work here and why do you stay?
I have always loved media and entertainment; it's been my dream to work in this industry. From the magazine articles and books I read when I was a kid to going to college for music performance, I have always wanted to be in this business. I joined GE specifically because I wanted to work at NBCU, and fortunately I was able to realize this dream.
What do like most about the work environment here?
Media is something that touches almost everyone in the world in some way. It is incredibly exciting, and the people that work here love what they do. It's great to have a job that you're excited to talk about and that other people are genuinely interested in.
What do you like about working in the division you're in?
I am in the fortunate position right now of getting to work on a project across many divisions, and it's fascinating to see the challenges and opportunities each area faces. That's one of the aspects I like best - getting the chance to work with people in all of our divisions and getting a strong sense of how the whole business fits together.
What does NBCU offer its employees that you have utilized and that compliments your experience working here?
Two incredible opportunities come readily to mind when thinking about GE and NBCU offers its employees. First, I spent two years in GE's Information Management Leadership Program (IMLP) when I graduated from undergraduate and can honestly say that the amount of high profile projects I was assigned to was an invaluable learning experience. I would definitely recommend this program, or any of the other Leadership Programs, to people looking to fast track their careers.
Secondly, I was able to take advantage of GE's outstanding tuition reimbursement program and recently completed my MBA from the Columbia Business School while working full time for the company.
