East/ West Coast Page Program
Starting in 1933 and continuing to the present, the NBCUniversal Page Program is a year long program that acts as a primary pipeline to entry level positions at NBCUniversal. Along with public relations responsibilities such as studio tours and ticketing, Pages have the opportunity to work on short or long term assignments in various departments including news, entertainment, digital, marketing, publicity, production, programming and Sports.
News Associates Program
News Associates gain real-world experience honing research skills, developing news stories working in a news bureau, participating in field and studio show production, on the nightly news, a morning news program, cable news, or on a "magazine" program. This is a one year staff position. The program runs twelve months and consists of several long-term assignments on a news program and/or a news bureau.

The Tim Russert Fellowship Program
The Tim Russert Fellowship will be awarded to one motivated, passionate graduating senior interestedin pursuing a career in political journalism. The Fellowship is a one-year, paid position in the NBC News Washington, D.C. bureau. The fellow will work on a rotational basis in several areas of the Washington Bureau including "Meet the Press" and the NBC News Political Unit. Responsibilities will include assisting talent and producers, participating in news shoots, and story research. The goal is to give a talented, young journalist the opportunity to be mentored by seasoned NBC News staff members and experience a yearlong "boot camp" in political journalism

The Experienced Commercial Leadership Program
The Experienced Commercial Leadership Program is designed to develop and cultivate current NBCU high performing employees and to create an entry-level platform for successful leaders in sales. Participants, exclusively nominated by their immediate supervisors, will attend various short-term assignments in all aspects of the sales field. This valuable six-month experience provides all participants with new opportunities for professional development, and preparation for future positions in Telemundo Sales. All participants will actively retain their current positions throughout the duration of the program.

Writers on the Verge
Writers on the Verge is a 12-week program focused on polishing writers and readying them for a staff writer position on a television series. We are looking for writers who are "almost there" but need that final bit of preparation with their writing and personal presentation skills. We particularly encourage writers of diverse backgrounds to apply. The program will consist of two night classes, which will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays (7-10pm), weekly at NBC in Universal City, CA. Once accepted, students must attend all classes and turn in all written assignments.
TIMELINE
Diversity Initiative for Writers
In order to further encourage diversity among our writing staffs, NBC provides funding for a diverse Staff Writer position, open to all scripted NBC Primetime Series. These positions are filled with writers selected and hired by the Showrunner/Producers of each show, with the guidance of the network and studio(s). Though submissions are read on an ongoing basis, positions are generally filled during the March - June staffing season.
If you would like to be considered, and have material for submission, please follow the steps listed below.
- Send an email with your name and address to diversityinitiative@nbcuni.com. Please indicate in the email that you would like a copy of NBC's submission release form for the Diversity Initiative. You should receive a submission release form from the NBC legal department within a few weeks.
- Complete, sign, and return the submission release form to the NBC legal department at the address provided to you.
- Once the release has been approved by the NBC legal department, you will be contacted and informed of the proper procedure for submitting your material. If you have an agent and/or manager, your material MUST be submitted through them.
- Once received, your material will be evaluated and you will be notified of any potential opportunities.
Talent Diversity Initiative
As part of NBCUniversal's ongoing commitment to diversity, the NBCUniversal Talent Diversity Initiative was created to promote & sustain on-camera diversity through community involvement and development, showcasing non-traditional casting choices, and creating programs to raise awareness at NBCUniversal and within the entire entertainment community. NBCUniversal's Talent Diversity Initiative developed an interactive online portal called "DiverseCityNBC" where agents, casting directors, creative executives, and the general public can access information on up and coming talent, events, employment, opportunities, and issues in diversity nationwide.
HRLDP Program
The Human Resources Leadership Development Program (HRLDP) is a challenging rotational program focused on accelerated development of top potential human resources talent, with the purpose of creating a pipeline for HR leadership roles across NBCUniversal. HRLDP is an intensive two-year program consisting of three, eight-month rotational assignments within the Human Resources function. The program combines job assignments with focused training and leadership opportunities to prepare you for a career at NBCUniversal.

NBC News/ New York Film Academy, School of Broadcast Journalism
NBC NEWS has teamed up with the New York Film Academy to train the next generation of journalists, preparing them to navigate the evolving landscape of broadcast and digital journalism. Working together, NBC NEWS and the New York Film Academy created an intensive hands-on curriculum to address the pressing demand for skilled, can-do digital journalists on broadcast network television, cable, and the Internet. Universal Pictures Leadership Program
The Universal Pictures Leadership Program is a highly competitive experienced-level program designed to develop high potential individuals and foster a pipeline of diverse talent for future roles within the Universal Pictures Group. Program participants will rotate through different job assignments within Universal Pictures in a structured process that will provide them with valuable opportunities to learn about film marketing, financing and distribution strategies from inside a major film studio.
