"MEET THE PRESS" IS THE #1 SUNDAY PUBLIC AFFAIRS HOUR FOR JUNE 15, 2014
JUNE 19, 2014 - "Meet the Press with David Gregory" was the most-watched Sunday morning public affairs hour in both total viewers and the key news demo on June 15, 2014, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
The NBC broadcast drew 2.161 million viewers, topping the Face the Nation hour by +61,000 viewers and FOX News Sunday by +1,157,000 viewers. Among viewers A25-54, MTP averaged 594,000 — topping the Face the Nation hour by +76,000 and FOX News Sunday by +329,000.
In Washington DC, MTP averaged 51,000 total viewers, +19% ahead of FOX News Sunday's 43,000 viewers and more than double the Face the Nation hour's 25,000 viewers.
MTP drew an additional 750,000 total viewers and 266,000 viewers A25-54 with rebroadcasts.
For 2Q'14 to-date, MTP is outperforming the Face the Nation hour in total viewers (+63,000 or +3%) and A25-54 (+63,000 or +10%).
Last Sunday's "Meet the Press" featured an exclusive interview with former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney; an interview with Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV); a discussion with Fmr. Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz, Rep. Peter King (R-NY), Washington Post Columnist David Ignatius and New Yorker Staff Writer Dexter Filkins; a political roundtable featuring NBC News' Chuck Todd, Washington Post Columnist Ruth Marcus, Fmr. Rep. Harold Ford, Jr. (D-TN), President of the Senate Conservatives Fund & Fmr. Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, and GOP Strategist Steve Schmidt; and a special conversation on Father's Day with NBC News' Luke Russert.
