NBC 5 NEWS EXPANDS LOCAL COMMITMENT WITH NEW ONE-HOUR 11AM NEWS. STEFAN HOLT AND MARION BROOKS TO ANCHOR. BYRON MIRANDA RETURNS AS METEOROLOGIST.

CHICAGO, IL - (August 15, 2014) - NBC 5 Chicago today announced that it has named Stefan Holt and Marion Brooks anchors and Byron Miranda meteorologist of the new one-hour NBC 5 News at 11am, beginning Monday, September 8.

Byron Miranda is returning to NBC 5 as a member of the NBC 5 Storm Team. In addition to his role on NBC 5 News at 11am he will provide weather related field reports.   Miranda previously worked at NBC 5. He was weekday morning meteorologist from 1998 until 2002. He currently is meteorologist at NBC Universal owned KNBC in Los Angeles. Prior to that, he has also worked at stations in San Diego, Houston, and Sacramento, as well as CNN.

"A lot of news breaks during the day. Our expanded news at 11 am will allow us to even better serve our viewers with the latest news and weather information," said Vice President of News and Station Manager, Frank Whittaker.

Stefan Holt also anchors NBC 5 News Today from 4:30-7am weekdays and Marion Brooks is the current anchor of the NBC 5 News at Noon.

Beginning September 8, Days of Our Lives moves to 12 Noon, followed by the premiere of The Meredith Vieira Show at 1pm, a new season of Steve Harvey at 2pm and an all-new season of Ellenat 3pm.
