NBC DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT PROMOTES EMRE CELIK TO VICE PRESIDENT, TECHNOLOGY


BURBANK, Calif. — January 13, 2009 — NBC Digital Entertainment today announced the promotion of Emre Celik to Vice President of Technology. Celik previously served as the Technical Director of NBC.com. The announcement was made by Stephen Andrade, Senior Vice President Digital Development and General Manager, NBC.com, to whom Celik reports.

"Emre provides the problem solving skills and technological leadership that have enabled NBC.com to break new creative ground in the digital space," said Andrade. "He and his team have successfully harnessed service oriented methodologies to provide the maximum flexibility needed in the areas of video streaming, social networking, and web and mobile publishing."

Celik will continue to oversee all technical development and support for NBC Digital Entertainment. This includes managing vendor relationships, internal development teams and tech support for all of NBC's digital entertainment efforts including editorial, video and social networking platforms as well as widgets and mobile. Previously, Celik held a digital entertainment position at Bravo. Prior to joining NBC Universal, he served as a Developer at Hearst Digital. Celik received his B.S. and Masters degrees at New York University and currently resides in Los Angeles.

NBC Digital Entertainment includes NBC.com, the Emmy Award-winning broadcast network website, which is a leading online and mobile destination for television and interactive entertainment. With both derivative and web-exclusive programming, NBC.com pioneered the "360" experience with "Heroes 360," which gave viewers a way to extend their entertainment experience beyond the broadcast, and the first weekly social networking experience attached to a primetime entertainment program with "Dunder Mifflin Infinity."
