Executives, Page Alumni and current Pages in New York and Los Angeles recently celebrated the Page Program 80th Anniversary.

Page Program on TODAY

Weekend TODAY anchors Lestor Holt and Erica Hill learn what it takes to join the ranks of the elite NBCUniversal Page Program. Follow them as they brush up on their NBCUniversal trivia and guide their first tours! It's not as easy as it looks. Also, watch the Page Program unveil its new unifroms by Cintas as hundres of Page Alumni and current Pages gather on the plaza to usher in this new era.

Since its inception in 1933, the NBCUniversal Page Program has launched the careers of generations of leaders. In addition to providing unprecedented access to the media industry, this yearlong program acts as the primary pipeline for entry-level positions within the organization. For 80 years, Pages have conducted public tours of the historic NBC Studios in New York. Pages further liaise with the public while assisting with tapings of Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show and other NBCUniversal programming.

Learning and Development

Pages have the opportunity to learn on “assignments” throughout NBCUniversal. Typically lasting three months, these challenging and rewarding positions provide hands-on work experience, while exposing Pages to NBCUniversal’s diverse opportunities.

Pages also participate in company-driven initiatives and events.  On the East Coast, Pages work on the Olympics, the NBCUniversal Upfronts, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, late night shows including "Saturday Night Live" and "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" as well as NBC News’ election coverage. On the West Coast, Pages assist with the Television Critics Association Press Tour, the Los Angeles Upfronts, pilot screenings, film premieres and the Golden Globe Awards.

During their year at NBCUniversal, Pages make important contacts and connections. They are encouraged to network with employees throughout the organization and schedule informational interviews.  Pages also learn from senior executives and talent through regularly scheduled Speaker Series events, where guests discuss their careers and experiences in depth.

Coast to Coast

The Page Program recruits recent college graduates nationwide to mirror NBCUniversal’s diverse demographic. Because it provides such exclusive ingress to a major media corporation, the Page Program is highly competitive, only accepting 2% of the 16,000 annual applicants. The East and West Coast programs are not identical—rather, each is grounded in the operations of its location.  While the East Coast Program offers a vast array of opportunities within NBCUniversal’s cable properties, it also offers today positions within news and sports production.  The West Coast Program, based in Burbank, places an emphasis on development, film and television production.
