The carpenter is responsible for ensuring the timely fabrication and assembly of the structural elements and components of scenery sets, this including but not limited to walls, ceilings, stairs, cabinets, doors, windows, furniture, props, and a multitude of other elements. Also, responsible for the assembly & installation of these individual pieces that will complete the scenery element and / or set. Job Duties Processes raw materials such as lumber, plywood, laminates and many other constructions related products to produce and assemble parts and elements that will be incorporated to a designated project.Maintain a clean and organized work area.If assigned to a location other than the Fabrication Shop the carpenter will be responsible of completing any other tasks assigned to them by this location's leader (Carpenter Foreman, Carpenter Supervisor, Set Builder Foreman, Fab Shop Manager or any other recognized supervisor.)Will notify the Carpenter Foreman, Carpenter Supervisor or Shop Manager of discrepancies in measurements and finishes.Notifies the Carpenter Foreman, Carpenter Supervisor or Shop Manager if there is a lack of materials and/or if there are issues with the set/scenery elements.Utilizes hand and power tools as needed to help support the erection of forms, framework, scaffolds, to make bolt holes in timber and/or concrete, and to assemble and fasten material together.Assist in the loading, transport and unloading of all elements built and / or assembled.Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.Operates aerial platforms & material handling equipment as required and permitted subject to certifications and qualifications. Assists the Carpenter Foreman, Carpenter Supervisor or Shop Manager in managing the inventory of sets and notifies when additional items, equipment, materials, and tools are needed.This role not tied only to the Fabrication Shop and will be required to work in multiple locations including sets, stages, off site locations, within the business campus and any other place where their trade may be required.Ensures that all work is done under the technical guidelines and operations procedures of the Telemundo Fabrication Shop and adheres to EHS/OSHA regulations and procedures.Follows policies, applicable laws, and regulations to protect his/her own health and safety as well as that of other workers, the public, and the environment.Presents ideas that support EHS goals and policies to the business or EHS leaders.Raises concerns about possible violations of EHS policies to managers, business and EHS Leader.This role is not limited to this specific trade and if his / her abilities and knowledge allow movement thru other trades to provide support. Works under the direct supervision of the Fabrication Shop Managemer and leads and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
