ResponsibilitiesNBCUniversal's Kids Standards & Practices and Compliance team is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our group. We are a part of NBCUniversal's enterprise wide Advertising and Program Standards department. We support NBCUniversal businesses including Universal Kids, YouTube Kids, and Peacock to ensure that our content reflects the sensibilities of our company and our viewing audience and adheres to internal and external guidelines, applicable law, and governmental regulations.As the Kids Standards & Practices and Compliance Specialist, you will work to ensure that child-directed content and advertisements comply with internal standards, Federal Trade Commission, Federal Communications Commission, and industry guidelines as well as public policy and community standards. You will be highly professional with a thoughtful, proactive nature, strong people skills, and the ability to solve problems creatively and collaboratively. You will possess effective communication and diplomatic skills, excellent multi-tasking skills, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment while maintaining strict confidentiality. This position is based in New York or Los Angeles and reports to the Senior Director of Kids Standards & Practices and Compliance. As we are a geographically distributed department with teams in Los Angeles, Miami, and New York, you will be expected to partner effectively and seamlessly with other teams across the department to achieve common goals.Essential ResponsibilitiesScreen and issue notes for all child-directed original content in multiple programming formats (e.g., animated and live-action, scripted and unscripted) from concept to locked final for compliance with NBCUniversal's children's content standards.Assign Television Parental Guidelines ratings and Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) designations, to all acquired child-directed content, as needed.Review commercials from concept/storyboard to final edit to ensure that they meet all regulatory and industry self-regulatory requirements and NBCUniversal standards. Assign YouTube Made for Kids designation to all "child-directed" and child-appealing content.Partner with the Ad Sales, Integrated Marketing, and Promotional Strategy teams on the review of advertising integrations and custom content advertisements, including NBCUniversal Symphony strategies.Evaluate all kids and family promos and ensure appropriate placement across all TV and streaming businesses. Work closely with the Senior Director and internal stakeholders throughout NBCUniversal to understand their needs and develop strategies that ensure seamless execution of their key objectives and priorities. Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices.Proactively monitor and analyze department systems and processes and develop and implement innovative ideas that improve the way we work.Qualifications/BA/BS Degree. Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in Standards and Practices (Program and/or Advertising) and/or Legal for a major consumer entertainment company, including broadcast or cable network, streaming service, or other digital platforms.
