The NBC News Washington Bureau offers paid full-time Desk Assistants (D.A.) positions year-round. Our Desk Assistant program is intended for individuals with a strong interest in television journalism – specifically network news and cable news. The positions provide excellent opportunities to learn the basics of reporting and production by observing and working with some of the best, most experienced news professionals at a major news organization. Key Responsibilities: Shoot, record, and edit video, audio, and images, often using professional software for production. Writing and editing daily stories, as well as gathering material to contribute to building the rundown.

As a Producer for NBC’S Nightly News with Tom Llamas, you will work directly with Senior Producers, Correspondents and Associate Producers to create original news content, for broadcast and digital platforms. Responsibilities: Overseeing all aspects of production of Nightly News broadcast pieces including booking, writing, ordering or making graphics, gathering elements, editing, and producing both long-lead feature stories and day-of crash pieces. Must be able to edit pieces completely on their own, and shoot in the field on occasion.

As a Weekend Associate Producer at the NBC News Washington Bureau, you will play a critical role in the news organization’s Washington beat coverage. In this highly collaborative job, you will work closely with the news desk, beat correspondents and other producers on key shift. The Weekend AP will spend their time working between the Washington DC Bureau and key beats, with a focus on the White House and Capitol Hill. You should be willing to work flexible hours, days, and holidays, with a willingness to travel.
