NBC Boston is seeking a Freelance Assignment Desk Editor. This is a part-time project/limited term position with an estimated duration of up to 8-12 months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed. Enterprise story ideas for coverage and interview subjects Assign crews to news stories and provide support for complete coverage, including research, contact information, phone calls, video etc. Coordinate feeds and media sharing with affiliates Monitor all changing and developing news stories from news wires, social media, scanners, contacts, public relations, phone calls, and viewer suggestions Communicate with production staff and management on the status of coverage and stories Establish network of contacts and sources across the Boston DMA Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
