DC Coordinator, MSNBC Newsgathering
MSNBC is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the Washington Bureau Chief, Deputy Bureau Chief and the operational needs of the D.C. newsgathering team. You’ll be a key player in the launch of MSNBC’s Newsgathering operation as an essential member of the team. The ideal candidate will have a start-up mentality and an eagerness to take on new projects and responsibilities that grow with the bureau. You’ll wear many hats in supporting our journalists and advancing our journalism. Key Responsibilities: Perform general administrative duties (i.e. answering telephones, scheduling/planning meetings, filing, planning travel arrangements for executives, submitting expense reports, etc.) Prepare and update correspondence, reports, and documents using Excel, Word and PowerPoint Assist on ad hoc projects and other miscellaneous duties assigned by supervisors Maintain basic knowledge of current news events Organize internal and external visits with government officials, newsmakers, News Group and media partners Assist in research and other editorial projects and operational needs
