Versant Media Field Operations is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full-Time ENG (Electronic News Gathering) Photographer to join our broadcast news gathering team. This role will report to the Manager Field Operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in news photography, technical expertise with professional camera and lighting equipment, and the ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments. This role requires flexibility, creativity, and a passion for visual storytelling. What You’ll Do: · Maintain a professional demeanor and attention to detail under pressure. · Capture high-quality video and audio content for daily news coverage, live broadcasts, and special reports, in live and prerecorded environments that enhance storytelling. · Operate a wide range of professional broadcast camera systems, lighting equipment, audio gear, and bonded cellular or satellite transmission systems. · Collaborate closely with reporters, producers, and assignment editors to ensure visually compelling and editorially sound storytelling. · Ensure all shots meet network standards for quality and editorial integrity. · Safely transport, set up, and break down equipment on location. · Quickly adapt to breaking news scenarios, adjusting coverage plans and equipment setups as needed. · Maintain all assigned equipment in good working order; report and coordinate repairs and replacements as necessary. · Apply creative techniques in lighting, composition, and camera movement to enhance storytelling. · Assist with live shot setups, including lighting, framing, and IFB/mic coordination for on-air talent. · Monitor and troubleshoot live transmission feeds from the field as required. · Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies during field assignments. · Work flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments. · Prioritize and manage multiple production assignments simultaneously.
