Programme Essentials To join one of our 12-month Internships you must meet one of the following criteria: You’re currently an undergraduate studying at University and returning to full time education in Autumn 2027 You’re looking to gain work experience after completing your A-Levels, an equivalent course or an Apprenticeship Additionally, you must be eligible to work in the UK without restriction for the duration of the internship from Monday 29th June 2026 – Friday 23rd July 2027. Willingness and flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern which includes early starts, evenings, overnights, weekends & bank holidays. The intern role is designed for gaining a broad understanding of an American TV newsroom. You will work with newsgathering and production teams within the NBC News bureau in London. Your development and the training you will receive will focus on all aspects of the 24-hour newsroom operation: from the assignment desk to the edit room. What will I learn from this opportunity? Multiplatform International Newsdesk: Supporting the assignment desk in logistics, coordinating correspondent live hits, video feeds and providing editorial support for key shows such as Today, Nightly News and on NBC News Now plus social platforms. NBCNews.com: Research and write breaking news articles and contribute to live blogs, as well as learning digital video production skills. Social Newsgathering: Assist team in finding, verifying, and reporting on visual content and eyewitness accounts that emerge on social media, to support storytelling across all NBC News platforms. Engel Unit: Support the producers of NBC News’ Chief Foreign Correspondent Richard Engel – learn how they prepare for assignments ahead of deployment and how they produce Richard’s reporting across all NBC News platforms. Media Desk/Archive: Supporting the producers & librarians with picture research, logging & editorial information gathering.
