Director, Affiliate Distribution
Role Overview As part of NBCUniversal, the Director of Distribution for Mexico and Central America is a senior commercial role focused on closing integrated distribution deals that combine Universal+ streaming and NBCU’s Basic Networks. This position is critical to driving revenue growth and maximizing the portfolio’s reach across the region by negotiating and executing agreements with selected affiliates, including MVPDs, telecom operators, and other distributors. Primary Responsibilities Commercial Deal-Making: Lead negotiations and close combo distribution agreements that include both Universal+ and NBCU Basic Networks, ensuring optimal commercial terms and long-term value. Affiliate Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers at selected MVPDs, telecom companies, and other affiliates to secure portfolio availability and growth. Market Expansion: Launch and renew NBCU combined services in selected markets and distribution channels within Mexico and Central America, driving incremental subscribers and revenue. Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with finance, marketing, content, product, legal, and data teams to ensure deal structures align with NBCU’s strategic and financial objectives. Performance Optimization: Use data analytics, market trends, and affiliate insights to monitor deal performance and continuously refine distribution strategies. Leadership: May oversee a team focused on commercial strategy and execution, fostering a results-driven culture. KPIs & Success Metrics Deal Closure: Number and value of combo deals signed (streaming + basic networks). Subscriber Growth: Net additions driven by new and renewed affiliate agreements. Revenue Impact: Incremental ARPU and total revenue contribution from closed deals. Portfolio Penetration: Percentage of affiliates carrying the full NBCU portfolio. Churn Reduction: Impact of bundled offerings on subscriber retention. Time-to-Market: Speed of launching NBCU services with new affiliates. Compliance & Collections: Timely execution of contractual obligations and payment collection.
