NBCUniversal Labour & Employment Department NBCUniversal’s Labour & Employment Department employs over 50 lawyers globally across 5 different practice groups: Employment Law, Labour Relations, Employment Contracts, Immigration, Fair Employment Practices & Positive Employee Relations. The team outside the US has lawyers in the UK and Canada. Position Overview: The VP, Employment Law will provide employment law advice to NBCUniversal’s businesses in the UK, EMEA & APAC predominantly working with the Universal Destinations & Experiences and Corporate businesses.

JOB SUMMARY Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Universal contracting process including all forms of agreements, reviews, analyses, contract negotiations and related documents for all facility construction, A&E design, consultant, and similar services using the NEC and JCT library of contracts, other bespoke forms of agreement and templates on behalf of legal that are utilised across the Universal Creative UK Project, including working in conjunction with project teams and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities Production Development/production work: Providing business affairs advice on all aspects of scripted drama and anime developments and productions. Negotiating, drafting and advising on a full range of development and production agreements including in relation to writers, onscreen talent, other key production personnel etc. Ensuring that all production activities are in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations in all territories and with the company's compliance policies and best practice procedures.

This role will provide strategic and practical legal counsel to the Company’s Human Resources professionals and business executives regarding employment laws and support the overall employment legal group, as well as negotiate and draft employment agreements. This will be a key role as we build a legal employment group for a newly formed media company, Versant Media.
