We’re looking for a Senior Producer for an overnight shift on a dynamic morning show who thrives in live news, leads with clarity in the control room, and elevates every segment with sharp editorial judgment and strong production instincts. This is a hands-on leadership role — guiding a team of Segment Producers, Associate Producers, and Production Assistants while partnering closely with the Executive Producer and Anchors to shape daily coverage. What You’ll Do: Partner with the Executive Producer, Senior Producer and Anchors to shape the daily editorial vision and build smart, urgent shows finding the best and freshest possible angles Oversee and elevate scripts, intros, teases, and banners to ensure clarity, authority, and consistency Guide Segment Producers, ensuring segments are visually strong and editorially sharp Play a key leadership role in the control room during live broadcasts, especially during breaking news Ensure all scripts, graphics, and video meet NBC News standards for accuracy, fairness, and tone Collaborate with colleagues across NBC to leverage reporting, bureaus, and enterprise coverage Submit ideas for story coverage, guests and correspondents on stories breaking overnight Spot and execute on high potential stories Fill in for Executive Producer as needed Oversee the long-term and day to day staffing schedule & assignments to make sure the team’s resources are being effectively used Help troubleshoot technical problems in real time Oversee the production, writing, and editing of occasional tape spots Mentor and develop junior producers, fostering a culture of excellent journalism, dynamic producing, collaboration, and accountability
