Reporter Associate - NBC & Telemundo San Diego

The News Associate Program is a 24-month, high-intensity program designed to develop entry-level media professionals. Participants in the program will work in a fast-paced newsroom in one of NBCUniversal’s local stations. This program is an accelerated opportunity for professionals with Broadcast Communications or Journalism degrees and / or a minimum of one year of experience within a professional newsroom. The program will include a significant investment in training and coaching from some of the industry’s best. The right candidate will learn the skills necessary to develop into a successful Reporter, Producer or Multimedia Journalist, while immersed in a professional newsroom. Responsibilities Produce multiplatform stories for both NBC and Telemundo by contributing to on-air, streaming, digital, and social platforms Shoot, write and edit for broadcast and digital as assigned Develop contacts in the community and pitch original stories consistent with our brand and news philosophy Work with Producers, Assignment Desk, I-Team, and Streaming Producers to develop special in-depth coverage Ability to work a 24/7 shift and respond to breaking news
