Senior Vice President, Head of Standards

The Senior Vice President, Head of Standards will lead NBCU News Group news-wide Standards department across linear, digital and social media. This role will lead a team that sets and maintains editorial and ethical guidelines, and safeguard the credibility and integrity of our journalism across all platforms. Responsibilities: Work with the senior level editorial teams across the enterprise news platforms to set editorial and ethical standards guidelines Lead team that will review live coverage, digital articles, scripts and social posts for accuracy, fairness and adequate sourcing and attribution Consult with editorial leaders on difficult or complex publishing decisions with standards implications Help uphold overall news division-wide standards policies and guidelines Provide guidance to journalists on news standards in real time when necessary Ensure that new and current employees are continually educated on NBCU News Group standards & practices Partner with HR leaders and corporate legal team to train and keep employee population updated to changes in policies Lead journalism award efforts across NBC News
