Government Affairs Internships – Academic Year

Academic Year Internship Program Details Program Dates: September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027 Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules. Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from New York, NY. Academic Year Recruitment Timeline April 20: Applications open May 8: Applications close at 11:59pm ET (we recommend you submit your application as soon as possible – applications may close earlier due to applicant volume!) Early May – Mid June: First round video interviews Mid June – Mid July: Second round interviews Throughout July: Selected candidates receive offers To Apply: Submit a one-page resume that outlines your work experience, accomplishments, and your graduation month and year. Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to: Government Affairs – East Coast: The State & Local Government Affairs Team develops and executes advocacy plans which advance NBCUniversal’s business priorities and protect operations at the state and local level. The team advocates directly with state and local elected officials on NBCUniversal’s behalf, as well as manages relationships with trade associations, film commissions, and other third-party associations to build support for our overall policy agenda. We cover all policy matters at the state and local level with a focus on expanding economic development opportunities and preserving production-friendly policies. The State & Local Government Affairs Intern will support the bi-coastal team with end-of session reports and strategy-planning for upcoming legislative sessions. The Intern will likely assist with in-person events at 30 Rock with Diplomats and other Elected Officials.
