Assistant Food Stylist, TODAY (Contract)
NBC News, TODAY is looking for an experienced Assistant Food Stylist to help prepare food for television, the web, and various other mediums. This person will work closely with the Culinary Producer to prepare the dishes and to use styling techniques, so food looks desirable and lasts for the length of the TV spot and/or photo shoot. PLEASE NOTE: This is a short term position with an estimated duration of 24 months or less, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed. Essential Responsibilities: Aid in the planning, prepare and style food for product demonstration. Interact and educate show hosts and guests on food preparation tips, as needed. Organize and keep kitchen clean and free of safety hazards. Maintain kitchen stock and coordinate with Props team to ensure adequate products are on hand. Check in daily shopping for segments and adjust as needed by coordinating with props team. Stay up to date with show production by checking email daily and read the upcoming segments information. Ensure all segment trays are broken down and placed back into stock after use. Coordinate with the crew and Props team to ensure leftover props and products from commerce and lifestyle segments are properly accounted for and returned to stock. Regularly collaborate with freelance talent across segments, demonstrating strong teamwork and communication skills to ensure seamless production execution. Assist in setting and dressing segments for the following day's show, working in close collaboration with the Art team to ensure each set is production ready. May need to assist in the Culinary Producer with brainstorming, development of food/Culinary segments for the broadcast.
