Acquisitions & Production Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION The Acquisition & Production Manager role is an exciting opportunity to be part of the central team overseeing the development of global Original Content projects. While reporting to VP, Acquisitions & Production, this role will be working across all Original & Acquisitions projects providing valuable business affairs support and commercial acumen to build the content slate. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The primary function of the role is to act as a business intelligence and support hub for the team, providing commercial rationale to assist in the analysis of new projects and titles going through the greenlight process. Deal Management: Support VPs & EVP in their negotiations, including but not limited to evaluating commercial deals with external partners, drafting offer letters (including talent, contributor, co-production and Acquisition offers), submitting board approvals and managing internal systems and teams on the pathway to achieving greenlight for projects. Manage the financial modelling process, including running P&L’s and advising on various financial scenarios and structures for projects. Manage our catalogue, tracking license expiry dates, liaising with internal teams on potential deals and opportunities, and managing and negotiating deal renewals with licensors. Manage end to end invoicing and payment process with partners. Manage selected projects end to end including external negotiation with the support from Manager. Analysis and Research: Research and evaluate market trends, providing wider team with a commercial analysis of various content priorities and sectors to support internal decision making. Oversee the analysis and review of library titles’ performance and deal structures to support evaluation and propose terms for new projects and renewals. Research and analyse comparable projects – box office performance, viewing figures, release strategies and audience trends etc. Maintain and report on internal databases and trackers. Consistently research and look for new project ideas across all genres. Relationship Management: Work closely with legal and finance teams on the analysis of projects and the construction of financial scenarios and offers to drive negotiations forward. Proactively collaborate with various departments such as content strategy, marketing, and PR, royalties, sales, operations, and the various distribution teams to optimise content positioning and monetisation of the green-light process. Support VP’s in managing relationships with external partners throughout negotiations. Attend industry events and shows as required.
