Assistant Manager, Costume Design

SUMMARY As an Assistant Manager, Costume Design, you will play a vital role in the creation and execution of costumes for various live entertainment productions, such as theater performances, atmosphere characters, animated characters, and events. Collaborating closely with the Manager, Costume Design and production team(s), you will help bring characters and visual concepts to life through your expertise in fabric selection, costume construction, and attention to detail. JOB DUTIES Assist the Manager of Costume Design in conceptualizing and developing costume ideas that align with the production's overall artistic vision, while considering factors such as time period, character personalities, and budget constraints. Conduct thorough research to gather reference materials, historical context, and style inspiration for costumes. Assist in sourcing fabrics, accessories, and clothing items that match the desired aesthetics and requirements of the production. Keep a detailed inventory of all costumes, accessories, and materials, including tracking changes and modifications made during the production process. Ensure costumes are properly labeled and organized for easy access. Work closely with the Costume Designer to track expenses related to costume production, including material purchases, rentals, and labor costs, while striving to stay within budget limits. Maintain effective communication with other departments, to ensure cohesive visual storytelling. Coordinate the timely delivery of costumes to performers and crew members. Stay updated with industry trends, historical fashion, and costume techniques to enhance your skills and contribute fresh ideas to the design process. Cultivate and lead a culture that promotes a professional, collaborative, inspiring, fun, and teamwork-driven work setting for all Team Members. Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, with confidence to multi-task and delegate as required. Ability to drive results of teams through strong leadership and development skills. Ability to identify and communicate creative solutions to challenges, and to maintain a consistent focus on priorities with persistent follow-through. Confidence to communicate across all lines of business, with all levels of management. Ability to deal well with ambiguity and constant change, working in fast-paced environments with accelerated production schedules. A strong passion to drive high quality results, both end product as well as process. Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health and Safety responsibilities by following established USH policy, procedures, training, and employee involvement activities. Includes completion of I&I, housekeeping and/or other safety follow-up documentation as required for department. Perform other duties as assigned. o Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
