Designer, Show/Set - Universal Creative

This role is associated with the proposed Universal destination in Bedford, UK. Successful candidates will spend time at the Universal Creative Headquarters in Orlando, and at the site in Bedford. JOB SUMMARY: The Show Set Designer is responsible for the design, development, and documentation of the overall attraction, scenic and show elements primarily utilizing architectural and CAD software as a design and coordination tool. Responsible for the development of virtual and physical models, scene studies, renders, plans, sections, drawings and drawing packages depicting design and art direction. As part of the Creative Design team, will assist the Senior Show Set Designer, Production Designer, Art Director, and Creative Director in the development of details creatively integrating the myriad show, facility, equipment, and elements into the overall creative environment. Responsible for integration and coordination of show and facility elements in the drawing package. Utilizes various drafting techniques, 3D modeling & drawing techniques and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, 3ds Max, Maya, Adobe Graphics software, 3D software, etc.) to model, draw, draft and create dimensional, scale drawings and models detailing the design intent and the integration of various show elements with each other and the facility. Responsible for designing to project program and budget, and for coordinating and integrating with other disciplines including but not limited to engineering, operations, and architect/engineer of record.
