Art Director, MSNBC Digital

MSNBC Digital is seeking an experienced art director to lead our art and photo department. This critical role is responsible for shaping, maintaining, and evolving MSNBC Digital’s visual identity across all platforms. Reporting to the Senior Executive Editor, the Art Director will collaborate closely with photo editors, illustrators, reporters, and editors. The ideal candidate brings a strong design sensibility, strategic thinking, and the ability to both lead and inspire creative teams. They will be hands-on in pitching, designing, and commissioning impactful visuals that elevate our stories and deepen audience engagement. This position is based in NY. Key Responsibilities: Lead creative development across MSNBC.com and our digital platforms Execute a visuals staffing plan for the MSNBC Digital newsroom Ensure all work meets brand standards and campaign goals Collaborate with editorial and photo teams to align on strategy and execution Oversee special projects Source and manage external creative talent as needed
