Sr. Product Manager, Operational Insights
NBCUniversal Advertising Products & Solutions (AP&S) is responsible for the product development and project management of NBCUniversal’s full advertising technology suite. From sales support to campaign execution, delivery, and billing, our division services both internal and external customers in support of NBCUniversal’s $7B+ annual advertising business. The AP&S Business Intelligence team leverages data to empower our business customers with actionable insights that drive business performance and fosters a culture of data-driven decision-making. We are currently seeking a Product Manager to execute on a comprehensive roadmap supporting our customers across Ad Sales, Platform Monetization, Strategy, and Finance. This person will learn how data can inform our customers’ workflows, apply best-in-class technology solutions to enable access to data, drive efficiencies in business processes, facilitate proactive decision-making, and ensure a trusted and quality data experience. The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative individual who is passionate about media and advertising innovation, cares about customers, and understands the value of high-quality customer experiences. Duties And Responsibilities This is a pivotal role within our APS Business Intelligence team. You will design and deliver mission-critical data products that enable smarter, faster decision-making across Ad Sales, Platform Monetization, Strategy, and Finance. You’ll convert complex business problems into logic problems that can be solved with data and software and own your product vision, acting with autonomy to shape product strategy, prioritize initiatives based on stakeholder needs, and chart the direction of your roadmap in partnership with senior leadership. Reporting to the Director, Operational Insights, the person in this role will: Build and maintain stakeholder relationships to identify business problems and translate them into product solutions. Write SQL queries to answer urgent business questions and mine large datasets for novel insights. Manage large-scale projects with multiple concurrent workstreams through the full product development lifecycle, from initial discovery and definition, through to testing, deployment, and post go-live support. Some projects may include: The launch of a new cross-platform dashboard that surfaces full-funnel campaign performance metrics by integrating data from research partners, retail media networks, and clean rooms into a unified schema and data model that supports stakeholder decision-making and campaign optimization. A distributed campaign data integration system that unifies our order management systems to enable deduplicated reach and frequency measurement across channels. The development of automated campaign pacing tools. Complex schema mapping projects to onboard new data sources into our existing ontology. Designing algorithms for estimating available ad serving inventory. Convert strategic goals from senior leadership into actionable project plans. Track project risks, assumptions, and dependencies, and keep customers informed on changes to scope and schedule. Present a clear product strategy with detailed roadmaps that align with organizational objectives. Advocate for customer needs with product and engineering partners, ensuring products and their features are clearly understood and documented. Compose decks and presentations that communicate ideas effectively to leadership audiences, tailoring communication style as needed. Create and manage enterprise reports and dashboards and assist in the design of scalable, high-availability data pipelines. Provide subject matter expertise on how attributes and metrics in our reports are defined and sourced and assess the impact that changes to upstream systems may have on various business intelligence products. Create and maintain product documentation, including release notes, user guides, and process flows.
