Technical Director

NBCUniversal has an opening for a Staff Technical Director supporting NBC News Now. The Staff Technical Director will prepare effects and transitions and operate a production switcher to deliver a complete, multi-layered program with video and graphic elements live for air. Responsibilities • Collaborate with Directors, Producers, and technical staff to execute live and taped multi-camera television productions • Offer technical and creative solutions to support and realize the production vision for air • Build, organize, and maintain switcher effects, snapshots, transitions, and specialty wipes • Create, document, and maintain operational workflows and technical documentation • Test and prepare production systems and equipment for on-air use • Prepare, route, and manage video and audio sources for live productions • Switch live programs in real time per Director’s instructions • Serve as crew chief as assigned, providing leadership and technical guidance • Work closely with management and Engineering to ensure all production equipment meets operational and client expectations
