Production Designer

Work with the Show Director and/or Creative Director to support the generation of visuals via sketches, storyboards, photo studies, and referential concept renderings to communicate preliminary design ideas for pitch presentation packets and distribution amongst other project stakeholders and partners. Compilation of the production design packets to convey the full scope of work through conceptual renderings, groundplans, elevations, color elevations, material and finish specifications, fabrication method suggestions, references, documentation, notes, and callouts. Create show set design drafting packages to relay design details to internal project teams for review/approval and to vendors for bidding and construction. Build 3D models accurate to scale that conveys an understanding of spatial relation, guest interaction, and material dimensions. Cultivate and lead a culture that promotes a professional, collaborative, inspiring, and fun work environment for all Team Members. Brings thoughtful, on-brand ideas to creative brainstorms and execution of assignments. Work with IP stakeholders as needed on proper usage of brand, adhering to all style guides and any specific IP requests, acting as the stewards of the IP. Graphic design and build print-ready-artwork for in park signage, special event signage, show set pieces, etc. Required to be to-scale at proper printing quality, with legally approved fonts and imagery. Generate style guides and print matrices to ensure any visual graphics produced for the event adheres to the defined design parameters of the project. Collaborate with all other design departments, active project stakeholders, design team artists, project team support staff, and vendors in all phases of production. Present designs to project teams, Sr. Management, and Sr. Leadership to communicate vision and implementation of elements. Provide art direction and creative buy off with 3rd party vendors, requiring a strong understanding of fabrication, materials, paint and finishings to assess construction progress and assist in identifying and resolving any unexpected conditions and/or discrepancies between the build to the drawings and design intent. Typically require travel to their shops. Facilitate on-site art direction during installation of assigned projects, communicating with the on-site team to ensure elements are fabricated and installed according to the provided design documents. Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, with confidence to multi-task and delegate as required. Ability to drive results of teams through strong leadership and development of skills to identify, communicate, creative solutions to challenges, and to maintain a consistent focus on priorities with persistent follow through. Confidence to communicate across all lines of business, with all levels of management. Ability to deal well with ambiguity and constant change, working in fast-paced environments with accelerated production schedules. A strong passion to drive high quality results, both end product as well as process. Establish and maintain effective relationships with other Park department leaders and stakeholders. Represent the company as a member of the Entertainment Department This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
