Position Overview: This position reports to the Manager of Sports Analytics and will assist in delivering timely, actionable insights to help drive business decisions for key stakeholders across our Sports businesses. This role provides a great opportunity to learn about all angles of the business and gain hands-on experience in media research. Our team is responsible for building connections between Versant and its diverse audiences across all platforms, using our expertise in how generational and life-stage segments engage with sports media. We focus on research, data analysis, and performance metrics that help internal clients better understand target audiences, engagement patterns, consumer behavior and cultural trends. Responsibilities: Create and maintain essential linear TV and streaming viewership data tracking and trending repositories, including regular reporting for sports league partners Monitor media industry trades to stay informed on trends, emerging third-party data providers and surface competitive developments to the broader team. Partner with the larger research team on the preparation and delivery of regularly recurring cable network performance reports and competitive analyses, including reporting to sports leagues Analyze and interpret the rapidly evolving media landscape to inform understanding of how audiences consume video content across all platforms, including SVOD and FAST. Support research efforts that assess the effectiveness of content strategies, including scheduling and stunting. Contribute to custom analyses evaluating the effectiveness of key content types – such as movies, acquired series, and special events – and identifying which genres are resonating with audiences. Employ creative data visualization techniques to present research insights in a fresh and thought-provoking manner tailored for key internal stakeholders. Oversee measurement processes such as submitting schedule information for cable networks in Versant’s portfolio to Nielsen and ensure programming is captured accurately.
