Line Producer, Breaking News Specials & Weekend - NBC News

The NBC News Breaking News Specials team is seeking a skilled Line Producer to help lead the control room during breaking news coverage and support Specials/Nightly News. You’ll work closely with the Senior Producer to ensure all production elements are in place for seamless live broadcasts during major news events. Responsibilities: Build and manage rundowns, ensuring all segments, graphics, and video elements are ready for air Help coordinate field teams, booking and live remotes during major breaking news Serve as a primary editorial/control room contact during weekend days Collaborate with Senior Producers and the Specials team to anticipate resources needed for major-event coverage Troubleshoot technical or logistical issues in real time to minimize on-air disruptions Partner with technical, graphics, audio, and talent departments to maintain top-tier production quality Produce live cut-ins, special segments, and additional content as needed Must be willing to backfill Weekend Overnight Breaking News Senior Producer approx. 4-6 weeks a year, as lead editorial watch for breaking news between Nightly and Today
