The NBC News Decision Desk is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Specialist to support its Elections unit, which provides critical analysis and data to all NBCUniversal platforms during primary and general elections. This role is ideal for someone passionate about politics, data, and broadcast journalism, and who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. The Specialist will play a key role in preparing for election nights, maintaining essential resources, and coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth operations and accurate reporting. Responsibilities: Conduct research and analysis to support election-night decision-making. Test proprietary election systems and graphics used across NBCUniversal platforms. Assist with outreach to state and local election officials to support planning and voter turnout initiatives, including Plan Your Vote. Maintain shared documents and spreadsheets with key election data, schedules, race notes, and administrative rules. Coordinate with political campaigns to obtain headshots and other on-air materials. Support ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned. Collaborate with the Decision Desk team to prepare presentations and reports for internal meetings and executive briefings. Handle administrative tasks including scheduling, travel arrangements, expense reports, and supply orders.
